Pyramids FC has already made a name for itself as a unique football entity in the African and Arab hemispheres.
In the past week, the Cairo-based Saudi owned club, that earlier in the window already signed Ramadan Sobhi, the talented Egyptian player, from Huddersfield, managed to pull off some more moves on the market.
It started on Tuesday, when Al-Ahly’s symbol and Egyptian national team legend with 134 caps, Ahmed Fathi, has signed.
On Wednesday, the club announced the well-anticipated signing of Mahmoud Wadi. Al-Bourj (‘The Tower’,) the Gazan forward of the Palestinian national team, has been dominant for Al-Masry from Port Said in the past couple of years, and now joined the big spenders from Cairo until 2024.
It hasn’t stopped there, as right afterwards, the club also presented Rodolfo Arrubarrena, the Argentine coach, who guided Boca Juniors successfully, and as a player was part of the great Villareal of the past decade.
While the new faces joined the training, the new in Egypt circulated around the possibility of the club, who since changing from Assiouty Sport in 2018 has spent on the transfer market sums that no African club has ever dreamed of, to sign no other than Italian, Mario Balotelli.
In other reports, club officials denied the negotiations with Super Mario, but this story alone, provide a good snick pick to what’s going on in the emerging club from Egypt, that earlier this month have lost in the CAF Confederation Final.
