Burundi was one of the few last countries still playing during the coronavirus crisis, but the Football Federation of Burundi decided on Monday to suspend the domestic competitions.
Last week, the Primus Ligue and Coupe de President matches were still being played, and the crowd could enter the stadiums. Players and officials had to pass health measures before being allowed to play.
According to the FFB official statement, all football activities are being halted in respect to the CAF decision. The last four league matchdays, as well as the cup semifinals and final, will be rescheduled. The revised timetable will be based on the CAF deadline for completing the domestic tournament, until May 30. No proper resolution was made yet, in case that the matches would be cancelled.
