The Israeli Premier League is getting closer to the end of the season, and teams on top and bottom of the league are ready for the decisive matches.
It seems that Maccabi Tel Aviv is running without any interruption to their third consecutive title. With their unstoppable streak of 20 unbeaten matches, Maccabi was ready for another win. They were playing at home against Maccabi Petah Tikva.
The match began just like Maccabi Tel Aviv planned. They were dominant and good enough to score in the 31st minute, as Aleksandar Pešić stroke the first. The lead was stable, but in the 66th minute, Liel Abada equalized, and the game became much harder. In the late minutes, Maccabi Tel Aviv found their hero of the night. The Panamanian striker, Eduardo Guerrero, scored a fantastic goal from a long-range in the 84th minute and added another one in the additional time.
Maccabi Tel Aviv won easily 3-1 and secured another week as the league leader.
Don't Let It Go
Maccabi Haifa missed an opportunity to take first place back last week, so their next mission is keep their place as a title contender. They played away against FC Ashdod, which aims to clinch their Europa Conference League berth as soon as possible.
Omer Atzili, the player that was supposed to be Haifa’s ex-factor in this title race, finally contributed. He started to shine in the 4th minute, with a decent header and debut goal for Maccabi Haifa. FC Ashdod could be back on the match after being awarded a penalty kick in the 34th minute. Roei Gordana took kicked it poorly, and Josh Cohen saved. Atzili scored again in the 60th minute, scoring his eighth brace in three seasons. Yuval Ashkenazi, another player that didn't score this season, found the net in the 80th minute.
Maccabi Haifa thrashed FC Ashdod 3-0, and they are still looking for first place, with only one point difference from Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Struggling on Bottom
Bnei Yehuda made an important result on their journey to avoid relegation. This week they played against Bnei Sakhnin. Sakhnin took the lead in the 23rd minute with a goal by Hagay Goldenberg. Only in the additional time, Almog Buzaglo equalized, and Bnei Yehuda made a 1-1 draw. Meanwhile, Hapoel Tel Aviv lost 2-0 against Hapoel Haifa. In the current situation, Bnei Yehuda is 4 points away from Hapoel Tel Aviv and 5 points away from Bnei Sakhnin, and they are currently have better chances in the relegation zone.
The other team on the bottom, Hapoel Kfar Saba, failed to join them. They lost 2-1 against Hapoel Hadera, and they are now in 7 points difference from the 12th place.
