Omar Al Somah, the Saudi Pro League’s all-time top scorer with 144 goals, has returned to the league with Al Oruba.
After a suspending two and a half seasons at Al Arabi in Qatar, where he netted 47 goals in all competitions it was for Al Somah to go back home.
A Syrian international, Al Somah has also scored 21 goals in 42 matches for his national team.
His prolific career began with Al Futowa for Deir Ez-Zor, Syria, then Al Qadsia (Kuwait) and then Al Ahli Jeddah, where he cemented his place as one of the SPL’s greatest ever forwards.
Despite receiving diverse offers, Al Somah chose Al Oruba, driven by a strong emotional connection to the league. His return is a major boost for the league.
