It was another day of football in Belarus, when matchday 7 started with Smolevichi against Energetik-BGU.
Energetik-BGU started the league with three wins in their first three matches. However, in recent weeks they failed to win time after time - looking to bounce back today.
This week they played away against Smolevichi, who ranked second from bottom and still looking for their first win this season.
The first goal was scored by Energetik in the 17th minute when David Tweh took the ball and curved it into the net. Tweh also cried after the goal, as he recently expressed how much his family in Liberia are worried about the current situation in Belarus.
Energetik felt that a possible slip-up is coming when Aleksandr Svirepa was booked for the second time in the 84th minute and sent off. Three minutes later, Smolevichi got a red card of their own. Konstantin Kotov tackled David Tweh and got his second yellow.
In the 95th minute, host goalkeeper Aleksander Filtsov made an awful tackle, and Energetik-BGU finally got a decent chance to score the second. Uzbek midfielder Jasurbek Yakhshiboev took the penalty and scored.
Energetik-BGU stopped their defeat streak at three with a 2-0 win, and they will hope to continue with another good match against Slutsk next weekend. Smolevichi would not have an easier opponent next week, as they will play BATE Borisov.
