Germany's Bold Bid for 2029 Women's EURO: One Million Tickets

Germany Aims for Record-Breaking Women's EURO 2029 with Ambitious Bid.

Germany has formally submitted its bid to host the UEFA Women's EURO 2029, promising to sell over one million tickets and setting the stage for what could be the largest women's football tournament in history.

The German Football Association (DFB) virtually submitted its preliminary bid dossier to UEFA on March 12 from its headquarters in Frankfurt. The submission represents the culmination of more than six months of intensive preparation by the association.

"This bid dossier underpins our ambition to use the tournament to sustainably strengthen women's football in Europe in all areas," said DFB President Bernd Neuendorf. "We want to welcome more than one million people to our stadiums and make the UEFA Women's EURO an economic success."

Germany's bid centers around the slogan "Together WE Rise," emphasizing a commitment to growth and unity across Europe to create a sustainable ecosystem for women's football. The slogan was showcased during recent Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga matches, engaging fans and highlighting the growing enthusiasm for the women's game.

The bid includes eleven proposed host cities with world-class stadiums:

  • Berlin (Olympiastadion Berlin)

  • Cologne (RheinEnergieSTADION Köln)

  • Dortmund (SIGNAL IDUNA PARK)

  • Düsseldorf (MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA)

  • Frankfurt (Deutsche Bank Park)

  • Gelsenkirchen (VELTINS-Arena)

  • Hanover (Heinz von Heiden Arena)

  • Leipzig (Red Bull Arena)

  • Munich (Allianz Arena München)

  • Rostock (Ostseestadion)

  • Wolfsburg (Volkswagen Arena)

Germany's ambitious target of selling more than one million tickets would set a new record for the UEFA Women's EURO. This goal reflects not only the rising popularity of women's football in Germany but also the country's accessibility, enthusiastic fan base, and infrastructure ready to support a tournament of this scale.

UEFA will now evaluate the bid dossier in detail, with the final decision on the host of the UEFA Women's EURO 2029 expected in December 2024.
